This week we are going to share some super easy and fun gifts you can make from home to give out for Christmas this year. Lets kick off this elf snot. Kids are going to love this and its super easy to make especially in bulk if you have lots of nephews, nieces, cousins etc.
Here is what you need:
(2) Bottles of Clear Elmer’s Glue (off brand is fine too)
1 Tablespoon Baking Soda
2 1/2 Tablespoons Contact Solution (containing boric acid)
Neon Green Food Dye (we used gel)
How to Make
In a mixing bowl, combine the glue, baking soda, contact solution, and neon green food coloring. Use a silicone spatula to combine it as well as you can. Once the spatula has met it’s match, switch to mixing with your hands. It will be sticky at first, but will quickly turn to stretchy slime consistency.
Add a label to the jar and you have an awesome present that kids will love. I have designed the label below that you are free to print out and use.
Mason Jar Christmas Scene
This is a fantastic idea and works really well on a budget, plus the Mason Jar is re-usable too! No glue involved. Here is a list of everything that you will need -
Wide mouth mason jar with lid and cover (Kerr brand is the best because one of the sides of the jar is clear)
Whatever you’d like to place in your jar
You should be able to find cheap little tree decorations in supermarkets and pend shops. The two times pictured both came form a pound shop. The first thing you want to do is grab your mason jar and put the faux snow inside. Put in just enough to be able to cover the bottoms of your figures. Add the figurines on top of the snow and just try to push them down a little so that they stay in place. Shouldn’t need to glue them in place, that way the mason jar is re-useable.
Pick up your tealight and adhere the magnet to the back with glue. Position it so you can still open the back to remove the battery if needed. The button magnet fits perfectly to allow access to the battery. Now, place your tealight on the inside portion of the mason jar lid. I turned my tealight on to make sure it was working properly, as well. Turn the lid upside down and give it a good shake. Does the tealight stay attached to the lid? If so, it means your magnet is strong enough. If not, you may need to try and find a stronger magnet. My button magnet seemed to work just fine. Just tie a ribbon in a bow around the lid and place it on a shelf for a great decoration or gift.
Magical Santa Coin
Now available directly from us here at Wonder Kids, these coins come directly from Santa in the North Pole, okay not really but imagine leaving out some snacks for Santa and his Reindeer on Christmas Eve, when your kids come down on Christmas morning they see that the carrot has been eaten etc and left in it’s place are one of these magical coins from Santa! I think these will be cherished for years. Take Christmas to the next level this year.
