This week we have a whole bunch of great snack ideas for little Ninja Turtle Fans. Make sure you check out the other TMNT posts at the bottom of this one. Next week we are going to share some great games all with a TMNT theme.
Lets not waste time, of course for this you could use some pre made burgers and just skip to the decorating instructions below but we wanted to include a super tasty Turkey burger idea. It’;s really good to get plenty of variety in your diet and if you are going to eat burgers well these are some of the best healthy burgers you can try.
Turkey Burger Ingredients
260g turkey breast mince (under 5% fat)
1 small red onion, diced
1 garlic clove, grated
1 large egg beaten
(about 70g), peeled and grated
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp paprika
Mix the mince in a bowl with the onion, garlic, egg and apple. Get your hands stuck in and work the ingredients together with a good pinch of salt and pepper, the oregano and paprika. Shape the mixture into two burgers about 3cm thick. Place on a baking tray in the oven for 15-20 mins until cooked through.
What you’ll need
Sliced Provolone Cheese
Place the turkey burgers on the bun. Place the top bun on the top right side. Cut a piece of lettuce to fit on top. Squeeze a line of ketchup on the top to look like a bandana. Cut a mouth & eyes from the cheese. Cut one out & use that as a guide to cut out the rest. Cut a raisin in half for the pupils. For a dinner try serving with sweet potato fries or wedges maybe with some avocado?
Ninja Turtle Jelly Cups
Great for a quick snack or a desert after the burgers above, these are super easy, now if you are really lucky you may be able to find some lime jelly sold in the supermarket already in small clear pots. I wasn’t so lucky when doing the research for this blog post. You’ll just need to make up some Jelly according to packet instructions, I have included links for some below. Use the same containers that we used for our TMNT slime and put the same mask and google eye on the front too.
I love the idea of this lunch box for kids, I love making healthy food fun for kids. Would you be interested in me creating a series of lunch box ideas that fit in with popular kids themes? If so just comment at the bottom of the post and I’ll start putting something together.
Were doing great so far but how about a drink to go along with all these great snacks? Here we go.
Sewer Slime Juice
1 cup sugar
2 litre cold water
2 packages (0.13 oz each) lime-flavored unsweetened soft drink mix
1 can (46 oz) pineapple juice, chilled
1 bottle (1 litre) ginger ale, chilled
How to make
Start with the water, add the sugar and stir until it’s dissolved. Add the remaining ingridients, stir and serve.
These are a great idea and I think people will be quite surprised by them. Don’t worry they are super easy to make. Start with our cookie recipe that we used for Minions back on the old blog. We will in the very near future be updating and transferring our Minion ideas over to this site. Now all you need are some red Candy melts, melt them according to instructions, just quickly in the microwave and spread the mixture over for “sauce”. Add some smarties on top for the toppings and finally grate over some white chocolate to look like cheese.
