Music - Maracas

Music - Maracas

We’ve reached the final week of our music fun. This week we are going to have some fun putting together a Music Festival Kids Party and I’ll show you how to make your own Maracas.  Often overlooked as a child's toy these maracas are in so many songs and add a very odd rhythm to music, a little like reggae music where you get that extra little beat.  Here is a good example of some music with Maracas

Music - Hand Drum

Music - Hand Drum

Another week and another chance for us to get our kids into music.  This time I have included a drum.  I find that out of all the instruments kids love, drums are at the top.  This drum is great because I think it will take kids a few attempts to really get the rhythm of it.  When things present a little challenge to kids they like it more once they have overcome it.  It comes from being proud and feeling accomplished.

Knights and Knaves - Food 'n' Fun

Knights and Knaves - Food 'n' Fun

Now you have a dragon mask, have the kids grab their Jousting pipes and play tag, the first person to tag the dragon with their pipe then becomes the dragon and the game continues until everyone has had a turn.

We are not done yet! How about some proper British food to go with all this quintessential Brittishness?

Star Wars - Party

Star Wars - Party

Lets kick off with your Star Wars name, this is a great thing to keep the kids busy as they arrive, find out there name then let them design a name badge with their name on it. This can just be some printer labels from a stationary shop. That can then be the kids name for the whole party. Have it on a phone/tablet or click on it to print it out.

Make it Simple - Play Dough

Make it Simple - Play Dough

This is super easy to make, you'll never need to buy the store stuff again.  This is a cooked version, there are uncooked versions floating around the net which are great if you want small kids to make it themselves but I think this version is superior with a far better texture and it lasts longer too.
